"Miss Adah Lyle Kidder, 75; Genesee Country Poet Warsaw, July 15-
Miss Adah Lyle Kidder, 75, a resident of Warsaw for 62 years died
unexpectedly Monday at her home, 7 Perry Ave. She was born in
Franklinville, on March 4, 1877, and is survived by several cousins,
including Mrs. Gerald Williams of Rushford and Mrs. Fred Barnes of
Castile. Miss Kidder was a member of the Warsaw United Church, Warsaw
Monday club, Wyoming County Historical Society and the Warsaw WCTU.
She was known throughout Western New York as a poet and for her
writing on spiritual and nature themes. Miss Kidder has been called
poet laureate of Genesee Country and was co-author with Mrs. Ethel
Tozier of Orangeville of the Wyoming County Sesquicentennial Song this
year. Funeral services will be held in the home tomorrow at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Thomas E. Asbury, pastor of the Warsaw United Church,
officiating. Burial will be at Franklinville."
